“The Hobbit”

is a fantasy novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien It was first published in 1937 and is set in a world called Middle-earth, which is inhabited by various creatures such as hobbits, elves, dwarves, and dragons.

The story follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who is enlisted by the wizard Gandalf to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim their homeland, which has been taken over by the dragon Smaug.
